Dance in Television

Dance is primarily a show presented to the audiences. Most of the dance is performed on stages where the people enjoy from the audience seats. If decades ago the beauty of dancing could only be enjoyed in a theatre where people must sacrificed their money in order to get into the show, it is no longer the case now. The invention of television has been likely to be a mark of the end of the exclusivity of the dancing show or many other shows. People no longer need to purchase tickets to enjoy a show as long as they have the access to television.
Furthermore, various dancing shows in the television have been produced and almost all people now can even choose to watch whatever the show they prefer.
Now, let us discuss three of the most popular dancing shows in television.

1. Dancing with the Stars

It is a dancing competition show produced in the United States and has become a franchise show produced also in many countries. It has been airing since 2005 on ABC in the US and CTV in Canada. 2. So You Think You Can Dance

With a provoking title, this competition has also become one of the most well-know dancing show franchises. Premiered also in 2005, the show has a format which take variety of dancers from various dancing styles to enter to open auditions in major cities in the US. Only a small number of dancers or group dancers are chosen as finalists towards the end of the audition. They will compete for the votes of the audiences who determine the winner of the show. The inputs of the panel judges also affect the shortlisting of the dancing competitors into the more advanced stages. It can be seen as "American Idol" for dancers, instead of for singers. Let's have a look on the show!

3. Dance Academy

It is not a competition, it is a drama! A drama aired in Australia since 2010 for teen audiences, yet also open to anyone, of course, who has a television and wished to watch. It was created by Samantha Strauss and Joanna Werner and the show is starring Xenia Goodwin, Alicia Banit, Dena Kaplan, and many others. The story is narrated from the perspective of the main character of the drama, Tara Webster played by Xenia Goodwin, a student at the dance academy. The story tells how Tara learns to be better at dancing in various kinds of dance genres, such as Ballet, Contemporary Ballet, and even Hip Hop! 3 series have been produced displaying the evolution of Tara and her peers in their dancing career.
